Weister "W.O." Smith, Chairman and CEO
Founder Weister "W.O." Smith is a graduate of Tulsa's Central High School and the University of Tulsa Business School. Smith began his career as a salesman working for Skelly Oil company during the 1960s. After relocation requirements took him and his new family to Joplin, Missouri and Fort Smith, Arkansas, he decided to return home to Tulsa in 1970. He opened his first self-serve FINA gas station near the corner of 6th and Utica and formed Arkansas Valley Petroleum in 1971.
Karon Smith, President
Karon has been with the family of Arkansas Valley Companies since 1986. Karon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Tulsa. She has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining professional services relationships, financial controls, human resource management, operations policies and procedures, and special projects management.
David Smith, Division Manager, Fiesta Carwash
David has been with Arkansas Valley since 1991. David has an associates degree in Applied Science and Business from Tulsa Junior College and a Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University, College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. Prior to joining Arkansas Valley, David worked for RJ Transportation, Belcher Oil Company and Pacer Oil Company. David has extensive experience in carwash and convenience store design concepts and in all phases of the construction process from the ground up. David also has experience in OCC, EPA, and DOT regulations relating to the convenience store and transportation segments of our business.
Denise DiGirolamo, Executive Administration
Denise joined Arkansas Valley Properties in 2002 to assist in the purchase, sale and leasing of real estate owned by Arkansas Valley Properties and Arkansas Valley Petroleum. She is a retired vice president of commercial lending for a national bank and began purchasing her own investment properties in 1990. She is a former member of the boards of directors of the Metropolitan Credit Bureau of Tulsa and a Rural Water District.
Marcy Smith, Manager of Real Estate Development
Marcy joined the Arkansas Valley team in July of 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Tulsa. From 2004 to 2009, she was the Chief Information Officer for a Tulsa based company, which performed property management and marketing services for single family, foreclosed properties for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. From 1987 to 2004, she held the position of Database and Security Manager for Tulsa County's MIS Division.
